Tadpole - Free Pattern
Tadpoles are so cute! Especially when they just start to get their little legs! They're really interesting to watch grow, and fun to try and catch in the summer. Also see my adult frog pattern here!

Materials
- Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn)
- Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)
- Safety eyes
- Tapestry needle
- Stuffing
- Stitch marker
- Scissors
Abbreviations (US terms)
- ch - chain
- sc - single crochet
- inc - increase
- dec - decrease
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- tc - triple crochet
- ss - slip stitch
- FLO - front loops only
- BLO - back loops only
- mc - magic circle
- (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time
- (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round
Finished Size
About 3.5 inches long. May be different for everyone based on yarn thickness, hook size, and tension.

Body
Using green and [yellow]
1. 6 mc (6)
2. (Inc) x6 (12)
3. (Sc, inc) x6 (18)
4. 7 sc, [4 sc], 7 sc (18)
5 - 7. 6 sc, [6 sc], 6 sc (18) (do 3 times)
8. 7 sc, [4 sc], 7 sc (18) add eyes
9. (Sc, dec) x6 (12) start stuffing
10. (Sc, dec) x4 (8)
11 -13. Sc around (8) (do 3 times)
14. 6 sc, dec (7)
15. 5 sc, dec (6)
16. 4 sc, dec (5)
Fasten off, sew hole closed
Tail fin
Ch 12Starting in second chain from the hook, 2 hdc in each chain (22)
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing
Attaching Parts
All you have to do is sew the tail fin piece to the tail, and you're done! Make sure you check often that it's on straight.
