Capybara Bippy - Free Pattern

Capybaras are trendy right now, and for a good reason! They're so cute! And bippy! And relaxing!

 

Capybara

Materials

  • Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn)
  • Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)
  • Safety eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

 

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • inc - increase
  • dec - decrease
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • tc - triple crochet
  • ss - slip stitch
  • FLO - front loops only
  • BLO - back loops only
  • mc - magic circle
  • (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time
  • (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round

 

Finished Size

About 2 inches tall. May be different for everyone based on yarn thickness, hook size, and tension.

Head

Using light brown and [dark brown]
1. 6 mc (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (Sc, inc) x6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
6-8. Sc around (30) (do 3 times)
9-11. 14 sc, [3 sc], 12 sc (30) (do 3 times)
12. BLO sc around (30)
13. (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)
14. (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
15. (Sc, dec) x6 (12)
16. (Dec) x6


Ears

In dark brown
6 mc
Pull tight and fasten off with a tail for sewing


 

Attaching Parts

All you have to do is add the face and sew the ears to the top of the head!
