Surface Crochet Bobble Stitch Tutorial

Surface crochet bobble stitch

A super useful technique for adding legs to smaller toys. The advantage it has over doing a bobble stitch while making the body is the ability to put it where you need to to have the legs lined up nicely with the face or other features once the toy is almost done, plus you don't have to switch colours for just one stitch. It can be a little bit tricky to learn at first, but it gets easier the more you practice!

Tutorial

Put your crochet hook through the stitch where you want your bobble stitch to be, and pull up a loop.

Now wrap the yarn around your hook. Insert your hook back into the same stitch, and pull the yarn through the first two loops on the hook, leaving you with three loops still there.

Repeat the above step until you have 5 loops left on the hook. Now pull your thread through all of the loops.

Cut off your yarn and hide the strings. Repeat for each bobble stitch.
